Does anyone have one extra ticket for the Doctor Who premiere in NYC next Saturday? My friend from England is coming out here, and it would SUCK if she couldn’t join us. If you have one, we can work something out money wise. Please reblog so others can see!

Why the inconsistencies between the UK and US branches of the BBC in relation to Doctor Who annoys me…

First… let’s compare the two premieres of Season 7.

for the UK BFI screening in London tickets cost around £15. You also needed to have a £40 membership to BFI in order to even attempt to buy these tickets.

For the US screening ‘as a gift to the fans’ the tickets shall cost 11 cents.

Thanks for gifting the UK fans as well BBC, nice to see you care about us! /sarcasm

Then there are the meet-ups and competitions that BBCA runs which we get NONE of over here even though this is supposed to be the home of Doctor Who.

Now apparently BBCA is it’s own separate entity from the BBC… but running under the same name, it’s still frustrating.

People say that UK fandom is less enthusiastic, or whatever, than the US… but the truth is that we are not given the same opportunities.

This has been a rant. Sorry I’m not sorry.

Sat in bed in my SDCC tee and shock blanket coz I’m not at comic con this year. Nerd girl problems.
This time last year was the BBCA Doctor Who lookalike contest, which I won… this year I’m watching crappy Saturday night TV. I know which one I’d prefer to be doing. :’(
